About Us

Wahroonga Prep is a coeducational school of the Uniting Church and caters for children from Pre-Kinder to Year Six. Our uniquely personal and supportive environment based within and adjacent to the magnificent grounds of St. John’s Uniting Church in Coonanbarra Road, is one of Wahroonga’s best-kept secrets.

As a Uniting Church School, we seek to promote Christian faith and values, whilst at the same time respecting other religious beliefs. The School is open to all families, irrespective of their own religious beliefs.

We have enrolment partnerships with two major schools within the North Shore, meaning a decision to attend Wahroonga Prep can provide continuity right through to Year Twelve. We offer a pathway for students to attend Knox Grammar School (Wahroonga) and Ravenswood School for Girls (Gordon). Please speak to us for more information about this program including conditions.

We offer rigorous and engaging teaching and learning, a large range of extra-curricular opportunities such as a violin program in Year Two, chess, robotics, basketball, leadership, community service, cooking and many more, are blessed with specialist teachers in Music, Japanese, Science, Enrichment, Information Literacy (Library), Scripture, Learning Support, Science and Visual Arts, and integrate technology into the day-to-day on our Mac platform.

In a recent survey, parents identified the things they value most about the School:

  • The caring, dedicated and supportive staff who provide a quality teaching and learning program, with excellent academic results
  • A balanced education with many opportunities that meets the needs of the children
  • The children’s happiness at school and love for it
  • Excellent leadership by the Principal
  • A safe and caring environment
  • A close-knit, friendly, and supportive school community
  • Small class sizes and high staff/student ratios

“This is our first schooling experience and I can not talk highly enough of the School. My daughter just loves going to school each morning and sometimes is rather disappointed that school is not open on Saturdays and Sundays. The teachers are always friendly and speaks with each child. The School has such a great community feel, and as a working mother I feel so comfortable leaving my daughter at the School, knowing, not only will she have the best education but also she will be cared for and loved by the wonderful team at Wahroonga Prep.
