Sport & PE

The Physical Education (PE) program at Wahroonga Prep offers students the opportunity to learn and practise the skills required to play a variety of sports during PE lessons, and the chance to implement them in cooperative and competitive situations during sport.

Sport is held every Wednesday at Bannockburn Oval and PE lessons are held on Friday. Our Kindergarten children take part in a gross motor program especially designed for formative years. Pre-Kinder have a PE lesson during the week with qualified PE staff.

During Term 4 children in Kindergarten to Year 6 take part in two-week swimming lessons, by qualified swim staff at Loreto Normanhurst.

In addition to our regular program, all students participate in ancillary days including the school Sports Carnival, Cross-Country Carnival and swimming program. Students may be selected to represent Wahroonga Prep at IPSHA interschool carnivals in Athletics, Swimming and Cross-Country. In recent years we have had students reach CIS and State level representative in Athletics and Basketball.

"It was nice to be part of the excursion group. I always had a very high regard for what teachers do but after this trip I feel teachers at WPS are awesome."
